Hey everyone! I'm Jennifer, some people call me Jen, and I'm one of those crazy people who wants to become a doctor when they grow up. Yes… that's me. I always get the "Are you serious?!" look. But yes, I want to deal with crazy intense situations, I want to be up for 36 hours straight, I want to save people's lives, I want to come home from work dead tired but know I did something special today. Even thinking about it makes me feel energized!
I've decided to make this blog for people to get an inside look on what it's like to be that person who is trying to get into med school, gets accepted (fingers crossed) and then goes through med school. I know it's a long haul, as I've been told time and time again. Four years undergrad, four years med school and 6 years residency. Fourteen years… and that's if you don't go for your Masters and/or Masters + PhD. Fourteen years of hard word and dedication before you can even start your career. If you want it that badly it shouldn't be that much of a chore.
I'll try to offer any sources of knowledge I have as I've been going through this process and any tips and tricks to keeping yourself sane throughout the whole process! Even though I think in order to be a doctor you have to be a little bit crazy. I'll admit I am.
